Berlin Maza is a Captain with Eastside Fire & Rescue, based east of Seattle, Washington. He is a credentialed Fire Officer through the Center of Public Safety Excellence. He holds an MBA in Finance, as well as a Master’s Degree in Emergency Services Management. He specializes in training and mentoring, having served several years as a training officer teaching at the fire academy, EMT school & driver training. He is the chair of the King County Fire Chiefs Diversity & Recruitment workshop committee, as well as the lead member of the diversity, equity & inclusion committee with his fire department.

Berlin is the President of the First Responder Liaison Network, a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization ran by off-duty first responders who are helping the next generation earn their full potential in the public safety domain.

Comprised of off-duty and retired: firefighters, peace enforcement officers, flight paramedics, 911 dispatch personnel, military veterans, school staff, athletics coaches, social workers, counseling psychologists, and at-risk youth counselors. All members of FRLN are dedicated to mentoring youth and young adults to help them thrive as resilient community sentinels and engaged civic leaders.
