Meet Dr. Brian Nakamura

Dr. Brian Nakamura currently serves as an Assistant Professor of the Practice for Texas A&M’s Bush School of Government and Public Service, Department of Public Service and Administration. Dr. Nakamura teaches graduate courses in public management, public policy, state and local government, and program evaluation.

 

Brian’s local government career spans 25 years, with 21 of those years as city manager for cities in the states of California and Oregon. In 2015, he accepted a full-time position with University of California, Riverside, School of Public Policy, transitioned to the University of Arkansas Department of Political Science, and in 2019 accepted his current position at Texas A&M University. Dr. Nakamura’s research interests involve collaborative governance, convergence theory, and coproduction of services and programs.
