Megan Alvear’s professional and personal through line in her life thus far has been service. Currently, she serves Texas A&M University on behalf of the Texas A&M Foundation as a major gift officer where she is a passionate professional dedicated to purposeful philanthropy. Specifically, she serves the George H.W. Bush School of Government and Public Service where she completed her Master of Public Service and Administration in 2021. She is one of the many sharing the inspiring stories of students and aspiring public servant leaders who are the “living legacy” of President Bush.
Before the Bush School, Megan worked for the other big and great university in Texas, her alma mater, the University of Texas at Austin, in support of alumni and volunteer engagement, including equipping and training more than 100 volunteer leaders annually.
Her strengths are in relationship building, including connecting with people and them to others, listening, and encouraging those around her. Over the course of her life, she’s lived in small and big towns in Texas. She currently resides near Texas A&M and is an active duty military spouse.
